Named the 2023 Festival of the Year at the 26th Annual Pinnacle Awards by Northeast Tennessee Tourism, the Mountain City Sunflower Festival is a perennial family event in Johnson County. In its 20 years, the Sunflower Festival has grown from 75 vendors to over 220 for the 2024 event.
The Sunflower Festival earned its moniker from the adbundant sunflowers that once bloomed along Highway 167 in Neva. While these sunflower fields have faded away, local businesses have renewed efforts to grow sunflowers to adorn the area.
The 2024 festival in downtown Mountain City will feature over 200 food and craft vendors, the Deputy Allen Lipford Memorial Car/Truck/Bike Show, The Miss/Mr. Sunflower Pageant, free live entertainment throughout the day and a fun zone packed with activities for the whole family! Follow the festival on Facebook for updates!
To see fields of sunflowers and grab a special photo, visit the Doe Valley Farm or Doe Valley Campground!
