The tiny hamlet of Campbellsville, Tennessee, offers big things for tourists and local residents. The nonprofit Campbellsville Area Association hosts four annual events: Run the Rolling Hills 10k & 5k Trail Run and Walk in April; an Ice Cream Churn Off in June; the Campbellsville Heritage Festival in October; and the Christmas Tree Lighting in December.

It's a community proud of its heritage, which began when the first settlers arrived around 1808. Visit the historic marker commemorating the Battle of Campbellsville, a stop on the Tennessee Civil War Trail. The Benge Route of the Trail of Tears passed through Campbellsville. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries the community had a bank, several churches and an academy. Campbellsville is not a forgotten community, nor is it a community that has forgotten its past.
Established during Giles County's infancy, Campbellsville has survived as a community for two centuries, experiencing the ebb and flow of events that changed the nation and the world. Yet, the peaceful hamlet nestled beneath the tall hills of the Southern Highland Rim, surrounded with broad fields of rich, brown soil and nourished by the deep waters of Big Creek, has remained unchanged in its pride, beauty and hospitable nature.
