Songbirds Museum is a self-guided musical and pop-culture experience featuring rare and celebrity-owned guitars, amazing memorabilia, hands-on music exhibits, and an in-depth look at Chattanooga's robust musical history.
Love live music? We also offer a wide array of concerts and other events. Our 250-person venue offers a spectacular listening experience in an intimate one-of-a-kind setting.
All proceeds benefit our Guitar for Kids program which has provided thousands of free guitars, lessons, and music therapy to kids across the south.
Our current exhibits include:
- The History of the Electric Guitar - Take a trip through the past seven decades to see how the electric guitar helped shape pop culture and change our society.
- The Science of Sound - Experience hands-on interactive exhibits focused on how the guitar works.
- The Big 9 - Learn the amazing history of Chattanooga’s once-thriving African American business district nicknamed the “Music Mecca of the South”.
- The Impressions: “From the Big 9 to the World Stage” - Follow the rise of one of the world’s most influential soul groups from its start in Chattanooga to becoming the soundtrack of America’s Civil Rights Movement.
- Celebrity Guitars - Tour our extensive collection of rare and vintage guitars with instruments owned by Chuck Berry, Roy Orbison, Duane Allman, Loretta Lynn, and more!
