Things to Do In Lynchburg

Make a day of your visit and reserve a seat at the table at Miss Mary Bobo’s Restaurant. It’s just a short walk from the distillery and has served up some of the region’s finest cooking for more than a century.

Enjoy Southern staples like fried okra, candied apples and Jack Daniel’s pecan pie while sipping on sweet tea and listening to stories about the history of Miss Mary Bobo’s. Then, spend some time browsing through Miss Mary’s Gift Shop where you’ll find beautiful collectibles, cookbooks and even the restaurant’s own brand of coffee.

After lunch, you can stroll down to the Jack Daniel’s Barrel Shop on the historic town square where you will find furniture and other items handcrafted from seasoned Jack Daniel’s barrels. You can even order a personalized barrel lid.

Then, swing by the Hardware & General Store for a souvenir. The shop has served guests in the area since 1912. These days, it offers Jack Daniel’s goods and gear, collectibles, a few one-of-a-kind items, staying true to the store’s original promise: “All Goods Worth Price Charged.”

Fun on the Square

While you’re on the Lynchburg town square, you’ll find plenty of other things to see and do. There’s a wide variety of shops and restaurants sure to suit just about everyone’s taste. It’s easy to spend an entire day browsing and enjoying the view, sipping a cup of coffee or having a snack between shopping and touring.

And, depending on when you visit, you may be able to take in a local festival like Lynchburg’s annual Spring in the Hollow, Frontier Days in the summer, the Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue held each October, or the Holiday Kick-off and Barrel Tree Lighting each November. Visit the local Chamber of Commerce page to see what’s on the calendar.

The trip to Jack Daniel Distillery is well worth the drive. Everyone will find a little bit to see and do here, and the distillery is always glad to welcome visitors.
