The Folk Medicine Festival (FMF), held first Saturday in June, is a celebration of folk life as well as the folk medicine that is a rich part of Red Boiling Springs history.  The festival is held on the first Saturday in June each year in the City parks along the banks of the Salt Lick Creek.

The goals of FMF is to preserve a history of life at the time of Red Boiling Springs' days as a mineral resort spa, to expose each generation to the crafts and artistry of their ancestors and to give folk artists a venue for expression.

Two stages have musicians, dancers and storytellers performing throughout the day, one park has space for 50+ vendors, another is set up for demonstrations in weaving, basketry, iron work, and other crafts. A quilt show is held in an adjacent church building.  Speakers and demonstrations on folk life occur throughout the day.
