The Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation created in 2014 is a non-profit dedicated to funding advanced innovative cancer research that treats the cancer while sparing the patient. The Foundation hosts local events open to the general public year-round and it's signature national fundraising program is called Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer. Our largest local event is an Evening with Scott Hamilton and Friends hosted by Sheryl Crow and live music where figure skaters skate simultaneously to music.
Crow, who is a cancer survivor, will be joined on the music stage by reigning ACM and CMA Duo of the Year Brothers Osborne, multi-platinum duo Florida Georgia Line, guitarist, producer, songwriter and BMI “The Icon Award” winner Steve Cropper, lead singer of American Music Award and Billboard Music Award-wining band MercyMe Bart Millard, and guitarist from the legendary GRAMMY-nominated rock band Styx Tommy Shaw and singer/songwriter Chelsea Field.
Figure skaters, with a combined 20+ Olympic medals, will skate to live music performances. The cast includes:
2X Olympic Ice Dance Gold Medalists Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir
Olympic Ice Dancing Gold Medalists Meryl Davis & Charlie White
Olympic Ice Dancing Bronze Medalists Maia Shibutani & Alex Shibutani
