1824 General Store was founded with the vision of keeping it local. The store is located on Main Street in historic downtown. As local residents of Mount Pleasant and recent transplants from West Nashville, the owners had a dream to open their very own modern General Store; one that takes you back in time but with a modern twist. The store is named after the year Mount Pleasant was incorporated as a city, ‘1824’.
The store offers local fresh meats, dairy, snack items, drinks and many novelty items that are hard to find in this region. With the owners vision of ‘keeping it local’, the store offers a variety of ‘Made in Tenn’ food and gift items. Have a taste for local craft beer? The General Store offers a variety of 'Made in Tenn' brews and mixers.
Not only does this quaint, historic building host a variety of food and dry good options, but you are sure to find a gift, child’s toy, health and beauty item or even a local musician’s album.
The vision they have created does not only provide a wonderful service to the community of Mount Pleasant but also a place for people to gather and support local musicians and artists. Live music is occasionally planned to promote and generate a feeling of community as well as support the amazing artists of this region.
