Now restored, this 1896 depot welcomed new settlers to the area. Later, it witnessed visits from Thomas Edison and William Wrigley, and served as a work site for German prisoners of war during World War II. It is now the OFFICIAL WELCOME CENTER TO HOHENWALD & LEWIS COUNTY. You can find all the information (maps, brochure, etc.) that you will need to explore and enjoy our beautiful area. You will be greeted by friendly folks and a hot cup of coffee. Take time to shop our gift shop THE HOHENWALD MARKETPLACE to get a taste of the unique artisans of our region and to take pictures in our on-site caboose. And,soon to come beautiful interpretative gardens!
