The popular mural honors the heritage of the Bristol Sessions--the 1927 musical recording session that spawned a musical genre. The site is also home to State Street's Farmers Market (Saturdays/Wednesdays in warmer months) and concerts, including Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion in September. Downtown Center is a multi-use venue located in the middle of historic downtown Bristol. The Center hosts the Full Moon Jam concert series each year beginning in May and going through the end of September. Concerts begin at 7:00 PM nightly. Downtown Center is also home to stages during Bristol's Rhythm and Roots Festival and the August Family Race Night event.
