Nashville: the city where the music never sleeps. It’s also a place where you can get up close to the world’s biggest musical icons – sort of. Enter the world-renowned wax attraction Madame Tussauds Nashville, which has been producing life-size, life-like wax figures for 250 years. The iconic destination, known for its interactive wax experience where you can take photos with your favorite celebrities, is located at Opry Mills, Nashville’s No. 1 shopping destination.
Teams of professional artists and sculptors spend months on research and take more than 300 measurements to recreate famous icons from Hank Williams, Jr. to Eric Church, Memphis’ own Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan and Keith Urban among many more.
“Step into the Music” as you journey through nine different areas, including the iconic Opry Stage where you’ll see Waylon Jennings and Minnie Pearl. The Rock Bar & Bluebird Cafe is where you’ll find your favorite “Nashville” TV stars, and even Jimi Hendrix, who had Nashville ties. You’ll quickly see that rock n’ roll lives in Nashville. You can find Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline (both of whom have museums honoring their legacies located on Nashville’s Lower Broadway) in the Radio Station exhibit. Finally, MTTV is where you’ll find today’s hit artists like Bruno Mars, who recorded his chart-topping hit “Uptown Funk” in Memphis, and Memphis triple-threat Justin Timberlake. Throughout the museum are interactive features, including the ability to record your own song. So, grab your camera and a few friends to experience Nashville’s music scene like never before.
