Explore Tennessee’s natural beauty on two wheels in these stunning locations.

Tennessee is full of incredible scenery — breathtaking mountains, vibrant forests and sparkling rivers and lakes abound. So what better way to explore the state’s natural beauty than on two wheels? Here are four amazing spots to go mountain biking in Tennessee, each with enough variety that mountain bikers of all experience levels will enjoy the ride.

Tannery Knobs Mountain Bike Park - Johnson  City

Designed by the renowned IMBA Trail Solutions and spanning more than 40 aces, Tannery Knobs accommodates both beginner and advanced riders in an exciting off-road environment. Its variety of terrain, trails and obstacles make it feel more like a playground for riders than a trail network. Tannery Knobs also boasts some incredible mountain views throughout the park and is only a short ride away from plenty of shops, restaurants, and entertainment in historic Johnson City.

Cane Ridge Park - Antioch

Just 30 minutes south of Nashville, Cane Ridge Park in Antioch features more than four miles of mountain trails. This beautiful wooded park has trails that accommodate riders of all ages, but is best-suited to beginner- and intermediate-level mountain bikers. While Cane Ridge is appropriate for amateur riders, the path still has plenty of twists and turns to keep things interesting for more experienced bikers.

Baker Creek Preserve - Knoxville

Located in the heart of downtown Knoxville, Baker Creek Preserve includes a kid's bicycle pump track and loop, easy multi-use trails and a kid's adventure play area with interactive elements. If you're a more experienced rider, challenge yourself on five multi-use trails and three downhill mountain bike trails. If you want a thrill, embark on the only double-black diamond downhill trail in the region - the Devil's Racetrack.

Union University Trails - Jackson

Created and maintained by Union University, the public Union University Trails offer more than six miles for hiking, running and, of course, mountain biking. The trails are beginner level, but there are some technical challenges, twists, turns and hills along the way to keep things interesting for more experienced riders. The trails loop through a beautiful wooded area right outside the historic city of Jackson.

Mountain biking is an incredible way to explore some of Tennessee’s scenic locations for thrill seekers and nature lovers alike. Experience even more outdoor adventure.
